Held annually in the French Riviera, Festival de Cannes has evolved into a grand celebration of cinema, art, culture, fashion, and business. This 10-day cultural spectacle attracts filmmakers, celebrities, and creators from around the globe.
In recent years, the Cannes Film Festival has witnessed an increasing presence of Indian influencers and content creators. This shift reflects the booming creator economy in India. While celebrating the stellar work of the many talented filmmakers, the one thing everyone has their eyes on is “Fashion at Cannes“. We love to see those extravagant couture looks and fits, created by fine designers.

Day 1 Looks
The French Riviera is buzzing with celebrities from across the globe who have arrived at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès. From Meryl Streep to Greta Gerwig, the who’s who of the industry strutted across the Cannes Red Carpet on Day 1. It was quite heartwarming to see some of our coveted creators be a part of this novel event. They attended the screening of ‘Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga’. And they brought their A-game to Cannes with their ultra-glam and fashionable looks!
Let’s take you through the Cannes 2024 Day 1 Looks of our Indian creators:
Ankush Bahuguna
Ankush Bahuguna and his alter ego Wing It With Ankush chose to put the spotlight on Indian Heritage in a Karan Torani ensemble. He was dressed by the celebrated Indian designer and founder of Torani Tribe, Karan Torani, and styled by the ace celebrity stylist Akshay Tyagi.
The ensemble exudes a young heritage vibe, consisting of an embroidered scarf with floral imprints. This was paired with a leopard-printed cape-cum-overcoat over a well-coordinated purple tunic and trousers with a pair of boots.
What sealed the deal for us was that ombré touch to his eyebrows! Ankush Bahuguna has definitely made history as the first Indian male beauty influencer to attend Cannes. Highlighting rich Indian handlooms in his debut at the French Riviera was a fitting choice.
Deepti Sadhwani
Deepti Sadhwani made headlines wearing a custom outfit with the longest trail gown at the Cannes Film Festival 2024. She decided to wear her friend’s homegrown brand to the event. She sat on the entire planning of the outfit and did several trials to have the perfect look for the last 60 days. Talking about the idea behind the long free-flowing trail, Deepti said, “I wanted to wear an outfit which represented my individuality and depicts my free spirit.“
The cape itself took around 45 days to make with a 300 mt. fabric and a 400 cm long trail. 4 craftsmen worked day in and night out on the outfit. The gown is hand embroidered representing Indian hand handwork by artisans. “I choose the orange colour since it signifies happiness, optimism and enthusiasm which goes well with my personality,” said Deepti. We totally look forward to all her next looks now!
Viraj Ghelani
From Kandivali to Cannes, Viraj Ghelani sure has come a long way and we couldn’t be more proud! He is looking truly dapper in the black and white checkered suit created by Alok and Harsh.
RJ Karishma
RJ Karishma donned this sequined gown and looked absolutely stunning at the electrifying after-party of ‘Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga’. What a doll! The Nour By Neharika gown accentuates her curves so well.
