“Panchayat” fans had been eagerly waiting to hear updates about the show’s new season. Then finally Amazon Prime Video dropped a hint about the show’s new season at the ‘Prime Video Presents’ event in March 2024. Here, they announced their upcoming content slate that included a peek into Panchayat Season 3. The release date, however, remained a mystery much like Sachiv ji’s future at Phulera.
First aired on Amazon Prime Video in 2020, Panchayat went on to become one of India’s most popular and streamed shows with two seasons out and an upcoming third. The trailer for Panchayat Season 3 dropped yesterday and broke the Internet, leaving the eagerly waiting fans extremely happy. It is packed with laughter, romance, politics, humorous trials and tribulations of village life and rivalry.
The Trailer
Created by The Viral Fever, the show is directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra, and written by Chandan Kumar. With the beloved cast including Jitendra Kumar, Neena Gupta, Raghubir Yadav, Faisal Malik, Chandan Roy and Sanvikaa, reprising their roles, the trailer left the fans extremely delighted. The clip has over 5.1 million views on YouTube in just two hours of its release.
Season 2 wrapped up on a cliffhanger with the future of ‘Sachiv ji’ Abhishek Tripathi (essayed by Jitendra Kumar) in danger after Raghubir’s character gets into an altercation with a local politician. The third season picks up from that point, with the trailer showing that Abhishek is not going anywhere. And his love-hate relationship with the place continues. “Achha bhala resign kar chuka tha, vapas aa gaya iss gaon mein,” he exclaims in the trailer.

Finding The “Naya Sachiv”
Recently, Prime Video put up a job vacancy in search of the Naya Sachiv for the humble village of Phulera. From Karishma Kapoor to Anubhav Singh Bassi to Ashneer, each of them had something unique to offer to Phulera. Some compelling applications poured in from all corners that went through rigorous screening.

Ashneer Grover: Will make Phulera India’s new start-up hub, pitched an idea to Pradhan ji, warns against misleading aspirants doing doglapan.
Karishma Kapoor: Will do karishma in Phulera, make every home indulge in song and dance.
The Promo
Prime Video then released a promo where Phulera’s sarpanch Manju Devi and Pradhan ji are seen meeting the shortlisted applicants as part of their hiring hunt for the next Sachiv. Made by Prime Video and Kulfi Collective, the promo features social media sensation Uorfi Javed, popular singer King, and Shaadi.com’s founder and renowned entrepreneur Anupam Mittal.
These three were the final shortlisted applicants who met with Pradhan ji. At this meeting, they were trying to impress the hiring committee. As Uorfi, King, and Anupam await the final face-off for the position of Sachiv ji, fans can’t wait to know the future of Phulera. As the moments tick by, the excitement mounts, promising an unforgettable encounter ahead.
