The story of Chirag Paswan is one interesting tale. Currently, a minister in Prime Minister Narendra Modi‘s 3.0 cabinet, Chirag has also been crowned as the Internet’s newest crush. Did you know he was once an aspiring actor? He gave up acting to pursue a career in politics. Hailing from the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP), Paswan is the son of the late Ram Vilas Paswan, who founded the LJP in 2000.
Facing a dark tunnel with his uncle walking away with the Lok Janshakti Party’s symbol and MPs, Chirag faced quite a lot of difficulties. From that to being sworn in as a member of the new Union cabinet as the representative of the Hajipur Lok Sabha constituency, Paswan has scripted a Bollywood-like turnaround.
Born in 1983, Chirag studied at the National Institute of Open Schooling in Delhi. He pursued a B.Tech in Computer Engineering from the Institute of Engineering and Technology in Jhansi in 2005 but dropped out in the third semester.
Prior to joining politics, Chirag Paswan had a brief stint in Bollywood. In 2011, he made his debut in the movie “Miley Naa Miley Hum” alongside Kangana Ranaut, another fellow member of Parliament elected in 2024. The film also starred Punjabi actress Neeru Bajwa and Chak De India star Sagarika Ghatge.
Directed by Tanveer Khan, the film revolves around Chirag who is an aspiring tennis player but doesn’t get support from his family. Instead, they urge him to get married and settle down. He informs them he is in love with named Anishka (Kangana Ranaut). The film shows their struggle against his parents and his efforts to stay close to tennis.
However, the film did not perform well at the box office, leading Paswan to leave the film industry and pursue a career in politics in 2012.
Chirag Paswan’s political journey began in 2012 when he joined the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP). Two years later, in 2014, he contested and won the Lok Sabha elections from Jamui constituency in Bihar. This seat holds historical significance for Paswan, as his father represented it eight times since his first victory in 1977.
During his tenure as an MP, he served on several parliamentary committees and held the position of chairman of LJP’s Central Parliamentary Board. Chirag played a crucial role in forming an alliance with the BJP in 2014. In 2019, he was re-elected from the Jamui constituency and later that year, he was elected as the national president of the LJP.
The netizens can be quite the “simps.” Their latest man-crush on the internet is Chirag Paswan! People have been drooling over how handsome he looks, his voice, and his personality. From simping posts to comments, they can’t stop adoring him! He has been crowned as the “most handsome politician in India.”
A user said, “He is bhayankar handsome.” “His voice looks and especially his knowledge attracts everybody then why he can’t be national crush?” questioned another. A third netizen wrote, “He is geniune, he is handsome and loyal ❤️” Some even revealed how they always crushed on him, “Suddenly nhi bhut phle se h bhaisaab.”
