Rolling Stone India is the Indian edition of the iconic Rolling Stone magazine. Launched in 2008, it is a spin-off publication that focuses on the Indian music industry, popular culture, and entertainment. It provides a platform for Indian artists, musicians, and creators to showcase their talent and reach a wider audience. The magazine through its authentic pieces serves as a holy book for many, offering recommendations and insights into the Indian entertainment scene. When an established name such as Rolling Stone celebrates 25 Women in Creativity, it sets a precedent to give due credit to our content creators and artists who are working their way towards societal change.
Rolling Stone is known to amplify women’s voices and offer them a platform to showcase their talent. In their recent event, Rolling Stone India celebrated 25 Women in creative fields including music, OTT platforms, content creators, entrepreneurs, filmmakers and fashion. These women have disrupted the existing set-up to build an empire of their own.
Prior to the event, Rolling Stone released a power list of 25 women who have created a niche for themselves and are exploring the length and breadth of it. To recognise and respect these women’s contributions, the pioneer change maker, Rolling Stone, organised a fun night, where some of our favourite content creators were seen. These creators dressed their best and owned their work through the evening.
The celebration included the works of Oscar-winning duo Guneet Moonga and Kartiki Gonsalves, Leeza Mangaldas, the sex educator and entrepreneur, and Musical Sensations such as Harshdeep Kaur, Asees Kaur and Lisa Mishra, to name a few.
The Star-Studded event was in partnership with the musical maestro Sony Music who also put their heart and soul into making it a success. Executives such as Gurnoor Bedi, Jobita D’Souza and Sangeetha Iyer were seen at the one-of-a-kind event, actively participating in the camaraderie.
The Women in creativity power list is the first initiative taken by Rolling Stone to encourage women to break their cocoons and step up to shape the world to their convenience. The afternoon was meticulously planned for these women to have an unforgettable experience including big musicians such as Tanmaya Bhatnagar and Kamakshi Khana performing for our talented women.
Rolling Stone also released an exclusive cover on their magazine consisting of 3 women from the list. On the cover, there was Mithila Palkar- best known for her role in the web series Girl in the City and Little Things, Malini Agarwal- the force behind the digital media platform Miss Malini and Asees Kaur- the soulful voice behind Raatan Lambiyan from Shershaah. These women looked like a sight to behold in their breathtaking fashion, setting the fashion sensibility for the coming year.
The afternoon had creators in attendance and we would like to bring your attention to a few of them who we absolutely love.

Lisa brings the good parts of Western music and pairs it with Indian elements to give the best of both worlds. She is known for her song Tareefan from Veere Di Wedding and has also released multiple solo renditions including Rider and Nai Chaidda.

Kamiya Jani
Known for her Youtube channel “Curly Tales,” Kamiya Jani is a travel influencer who makes informative videos for her audience covering various cities across the country and abroad. To be honest, we eagerly wait for her videos and sometimes also plan our holidays based on her input. Kamiya has crafted her own sphere and is ruling the travel industry with ease.
While we would have to loved to write extensively about every woman and her work, but all these talented women have achieved so much in such a short span of time, that our words fall short. Creators such as Niharika NM, Prajakta Koli, Sejal Kumar and many others have left their mark not only in India but also on international platforms. We are in complete awe of their growth. The Women In Creativity is an excellent initiative by the Rolling Stone and we hope to see many such events in the future to celebrate Woman and her achievements.
