In today’s world, social media platforms have turned into one of the most influential places on the internet. With new trends swiftly gaining traction within minutes of emerging, these content pieces rapidly spread across like wildfire. Instagram, in particular, hosts numerous enjoyable trends that capture users’ attention and maintain their engagement.
The latest trend that has caught the internet’s vivid imagination is the “Right Round trend“. From content creators to digital celebrities to actors, we’ve seen them all try their hands at this emerging trend. This new trend highlights passenger princess behaviour – ideally, people who do not wish to drive but sit next to the driver. They could be great at playing DJ with the aux but are equally bad at giving directions.

With Flo Rida’s iconic “Right Round” track playing in the background, the trend is basically an over-the-top reaction to the wrong directions given by the one playing the passenger princess. It is a series of pictures alternating between the driver and the passenger that range from confusion to panic. Let’s take you through some of the best renditions of the Right Round trend:
Taneesha ft. Jeetu
Every time Taneesha and her father, Jeetu come together to create content, it is bound to entertain. Jeetu has a separate fanbase altogether. The reel begins with Jeetu driving and asking for directions – ‘When to turn?‘ Taneesha confidently asks him to wait for it, only to realise the next second that they were supposed to take the immediate one. What follows is an exaggerated reaction to Jeetu’s sudden turn.
Orry ft. The Bollywood Wives
Orhan Awatramani exists and he becomes a trend. The man is a phenomenon. Recently, he roped in the Bollywood wives Bhavana Pandey, Maheep Kapoor and Seema to drive around. And in true Bollywood style, they executed the “Right Round” trend in the most dramatic style with Maheep ending up on the floor! And the star kids of these Bolly wives had a great laugh about it in the comments.
Shyamolie Parikh
Shyamolie‘s reel shows her in the driver’s seat with friends who probably should never give directions. All 3 of her buddies seem clueless about the directions which results in her taking a sharp turn. Following the trend, they all create exaggerated reactions and at one point Shyamolie ends up on her friend’s lap, leaving the wheel This rendition was hilarious to watch.
Devansh Kamboj
Devansh recreated this trend with his partner Himani. He asks her whether he has to take a left or a right and she says right while pointing to the left side leaving Devansh max confused. He tells her that’s not right (hehe, geddit?) which enrages the already stressed Himani and she tells him to do what he feels is right. And that’s where the exaggerated display of emotions begins.
Aliya Hamidi
The reel begins with Aliya wondering if the next turn on the road is their exit and she asks her friend who casually responds “No, you’re good it’s the next one.” Just to immediately realise it was in fact that turn and they both jostle inside the car as Aliya pretends to take a sharp right. The bouquet of roses in her friend’s lap ended up all over the car and them.
Well, this new trend makes us realise that we all have such passenger princess friends in our lives…or we are one of them. It is definitely a fresh and unique trend amongst the sea of other social media fads. So, go ahead and take that directionally-challenged friend of yours out for a drive, you’ll end up creating a trend by default, haha!
