Premiered back in 2019, The Boys felt like a perfect bold remedy to superhero fatigue. Producer Eric Kripke‘s show not only parodied the overwhelming presence of superheroes in popular culture but also critiqued corporations, politicians, and their corrupt connections.
What Is The Boys About?
THE BOYS is a wicked take on what happens when superheroes, who are as popular as celebrities, & as influential as politicians, abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good. It’s the powerless against the super powerful as The Boys embark on a heroic quest to expose the truth about “The Seven,” and their formidable Vought support.
Stellar Cast
The Boys Season 4 boasts a star-studded cast including the infamous Homelander played by Antony Starr, Karl Urban as Billy Butcher, Jack Quaid as Hughie Campbell, Erin Moriarty as Starlight/Annie January, Laz Alonso as MM, Chace Crawford as The Deep, Claudia Doumit as Victoria Neuman, and more. Additionally, the fourth season also welcomes Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Joe Kessler, Valorie Curry as Firecracker, and Susan Heyward as Sage Sister.
Change In Tone 🗣
Season 4 of this action-drama thriller has been characterised as leaning more toward a political thriller tone and less toward its typical dark humour and gore. This shift is intended to bring a unique twist to the show.

Is It Worth Watching?
There is one thing that The Boys excels at, which is consistency. If you anticipate the same disturbing visuals, social critique, and acting as seen in previous seasons, then you’re in for a treat. Three episodes out of the eight are LIVE as of now. So far, Homelander remains the sociopath who views humans as “toys” and inferior to himself and other supes.
Moreover, Butcher remains the cunning & destructive saviour of mankind. The rest of the team strives to achieve their objectives, while The Seven exists solely to cater to his master Homelander.
What makes this season super compelling is how they wrap up the characters’ stories towards the end. Taking down Homelander is going to be epic! The final season of The Boys has to nail it on all fronts to remain the best comic book show on TV.
Unconventional Storytelling
The fourth season of The Boys continues to excel at pushing boundaries in storytelling. It delivers unexpected moments, revelations, and surprise appearances, which fascinate & astonish viewers who are bound to exclaim “OMG!” when they watch the show!
Where To Watch?
The Boys season 4 has a three-episode premiere and weekly releases on Thursdays after that exclusively on Amazon Prime Video. Overall, if you enjoyed the earlier seasons, you’ll likely still be entertained, but it might not be as groundbreaking as what came before. Or maybe it would, you never know! Let’s wait and watch the rest of the show.
