Premiered back in 2019, The Boys felt like a perfect bold remedy to superhero fatigue. Producer Eric Kripke‘s show not only parodied the overwhelming presence of superheroes in popular culture but also critiqued corporations, politicians, and their corrupt connections.
THE BOYS is a wicked take on what happens when superheroes, who are as popular as celebrities, & as influential as politicians, abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good. It’s the powerless against the super powerful as The Boys embark on a heroic quest to expose the truth about “The Seven,” and their formidable Vought support.
The Boys Season 4 boasts a star-studded cast including the infamous Homelander played by Antony Starr, Karl Urban as Billy Butcher, Jack Quaid as Hughie Campbell, Erin Moriarty as Starlight/Annie January, Laz Alonso as MM, Chace Crawford as The Deep, Claudia Doumit as Victoria Neuman, and more. Additionally, the fourth season also welcomes Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Joe Kessler, Valorie Curry as Firecracker, and Susan Heyward as Sage Sister.
Season 4 of this action-drama thriller has been characterised as leaning more toward a political thriller tone and less toward its typical dark humour and gore. This shift is intended to bring a unique twist to the show.
