Comments flooded in labelling the act as ‘unprofessional‘ and ‘unhygienic,’ with many questioning why the singer had not attended to this grooming task before coming on stage. Some even expressed bewilderment over the fact that the artist carried his nail cutter on the stage.

Defending the Singer
Despite the overwhelmingly negative response, some fans rushed to Arijit Singh’s defence, offering explanations for his behaviour. One fan recounted being present at the Dubai concert and explained that Singh faced difficulties playing the guitar due to the length of his nails, hence the impromptu trimming episode happened. Others speculated that the singer’s action was to enhance his guitar-playing abilities and was common among guitarist.

This incident is not the first time Arijit has found himself at the centre of controversy during his performances. Earlier, another video surfaced on social media wherein he failed to recognise popular Pakistani actress Mahira Khan, who was seated in the front row of his concert in Dubai. However, he quickly rectified the situation by acknowledging her presence and apologising on stage.
