In A Viral Video, Arijit Singh Is Seen Trimming Nails On Stage; Sparks Controversy

The Internet holds immense hold and that is no secret. It has the power to propel anybody into stardom overnight and can even lash criticism at the most beloved. A recent video featuring Bollywood playback singer Arijit Singh has been making rounds on social media and has ignited a heated debate. During one of his concerts in Dubai, Arijit Singh was caught on camera engaging in an unconventional activity on stage – trimming his nails with a nail cutter while performing for his audience. The viral video controversy is flooded with comments, stirring criticism from many quarters calling it ‘’highly unprofessional’ while a few fans have also come in support of the talented artist.

On-Stage Behaviour

In the footage shared by fan pages across various social media platforms, Arijit Singh can be seen clad in a grey shirt with an orange cloth tied around his head. Transporting his audiences to a wonderland while he sings his popular melodies, is not an uncommon scene for the musical maestro. However, what caught the attention of many viewers was his unconventional behaviour of trimming his nails with a nail cutter mid-performance, much to the surprise and disapproval of the audience.

Social Media Uproar

Following the circulation of the video, social media platforms erupted with a flurry of reactions, predominantly criticising Arijit Singh’s actions. Comments flooded in labelling the act as ‘unprofessional‘ and ‘unhygienic,’ with many questioning why the singer had not attended to this grooming task before coming on stage. Some even expressed bewilderment over the fact that the artist carried his nail cutter on the stage.

Defending the Singer

Despite the overwhelmingly negative response, some fans rushed to Arijit Singh’s defence, offering explanations for his behaviour. One fan recounted being present at the Dubai concert and explained that Singh faced difficulties playing the guitar due to the length of his nails, hence the impromptu trimming episode happened. Others speculated that the singer’s action was to enhance his guitar-playing abilities and was common among guitarist.

Previous Controversies

This incident is not the first time Arijit has found himself at the centre of controversy during his performances. Earlier, another video surfaced on social media wherein he failed to recognise popular Pakistani actress Mahira Khan, who was seated in the front row of his concert in Dubai. However, he quickly rectified the situation by acknowledging her presence and apologising on stage.

While Arijit Singh’s on-stage nail-cutting may have sparked criticism and debate, it has not overshadowed his undeniable talent and contribution to the world of music. As with any public figure, his actions are subject to scrutiny, but his artistry and dedication to his craft continue to resonate with audiences globally.
