Walk-In The Wardrobes Of Music Sensations With Rani Ko-HE-Nur

One of India’s leading music streaming services, Amazon Music India started a video-centric initiative earlier this year wherein they launched a series of shows focusing on Indian music artists. These shows encapsulate their musical journeys, music tastes, offer a sneak peek into the lives of musicians, and never-seen-before interviews of indie artists, among other things. One of these shows unveiled by Amazon Music is “The Walk In – India Edition.” It is a series that takes you into the lives and wardrobes of Indian music artists.

The Walk In – India Edition is exclusively available on the Amazon Music India mobile app and their YouTube page. This series is an adaptation of the original global edition which featured world-famous artists like Katy Perry, Avril Lavigne, and Shania Twain. With its three Webby Award nominations, The Walk In has captured global attention for its innovative approach to artist-fan engagement. The India edition has elevated this concept to new heights with segments like Rewind, This or That, Heads Up, Read My Lips, Fast Forward, and #FabCollab.

The series is hosted by the multi-hyphenate Sushant Divgikar who is also known as Rani Ko-HE-Nur. With laurels like Forbes 30 under 30, GQ’s 50 Most Influential Young Indians 2018, and many more under their belt, Rani is a music and style icon. And these also happen to be the sections this show delves into – music, style, good times and fashion. While the global version showcased the artist’s early fashion choices, the latter focuses on their current and future style evolution, personal anecdotes, brand endorsements and interconnected narratives.

Launched this July, each episode features Rani entering an artist’s wardrobe which is curated to reflect their personality. They said, “Pop stars often become fashion icons, leaving a profound mark on culture. I’m honoured to document the wardrobes of my favourite artists, including long-admired idols. Thanks to Amazon Music India for this platform, allowing us to celebrate our Indian and Desi stars alongside international counterparts, shining a spotlight on our own talent.”

Mamta Saraf, Director, Amazon Music India, added, “Hosted by the incomparable style icon, Sushant Divgikar, known as Rani Ko-HE-Nur, this series is a unique fusion of music and fashion that brings fans closer to the artists they love.” ‘The Walk-In series’ has thus far featured Punjabi singer and actress Sunanda Sharma, Indian hip hop sensation King, Punjabi music artist Harrdy Sandhu, and the iconic Sunidhi Chauhan.

Let’s take you through this super intriguing series:

Sunidhi Chauhan

This was a legendary episode because Rani Ko-HE-Nur met their music icon and the OG rani of Bollywood, Sunidhi Chauhan! They discussed how Sunidhi hates shopping, loves the colour black and is obsessed with boots while exploring her wardrobe. The singer shared her fashion insights and opened up about her journey in the music industry. The episode could not have ended without both of them singing together in what is the last segment of the show – #FabCollab. These two amazing singers also collaborated to sing the reprised version of “Pari Hoon Main” in the movie “Thank You For Coming.

King

Featuring the Indian hip-hop sensation, Kingthis episode delves into his evolving style and chart-topping music career. Raja meets Rani- what an ideal pairing. Both of them spoke about his fashion choices and the stories behind them. King explained his stage name, shared anecdotes about specific outfits, spoke about his personal style, collaborations with brands, and his involvement in Amazon Music’s rap playlist, “rapflow.” The episode highlighted King’s unique fashion sense and his down-to-earth attitude towards style.

Harrdy Sandhu

Punjabi music artist Harrdy Sandhu opened up about his taste in more than just fashion in this episode. Rani asked Harrdy about the story behind his name, then moved on to his fashion choices, including outfits from his music videos. The conversation emphasized the importance of personal style over trends. They also discussed Harrdy’s collaboration with Puma for a shoe collection, his movie, and his love for Manchester City football club. The video gave a sneak peek into Harrdy’s then upcoming song, ‘Psycho.’

Sunanda Sharma

In this bubbly episode, Punjabi singer and actress Sunanda Sharma opened up her wardrobe and bag collection while sharing her hatred for heels. Rani Ko-HE-Nur and Sunanda lit up the screen with their Queen energy. Known for hits like “Jaani Tera Naa” and “Patake,” the singer prefers comfort over style especially while performing. They discussed the sentimental value of certain outfits and played a fun “Read My Lips” game. The episode showcased Sunanda’s unique approach to rehearsing and her genuine passion for music and fashion.

The Walk In – Indian Edition is a unique format that is entertaining to watch with Rani Ko-HE-Nur guiding music fans through the tapestry of popular Indian artists’ wardrobes. Rani getting up close and personal with the music stars offers an immersive experience that brings fans closer to the artists they love while diving into the stories that have shaped their musical careers.
