Zeenat Ji before Bollywood
Zeenat Aman was born as Zeenat Khan on 19th November 1951 to Amanullah Khan and Scinda Vardhini Karvaste. Her father was a screenwriter and it was through him she saw the glamour world. When she was 13 years old, she lost her father. Later, to honour him she adopted “Aman” as her last name which was her father’s pen name.
In the year 1970, Zeenat Ji stood second in the Femina Miss India beauty pageant winning the title of First Princess. In the same year, she won the Miss Asia Pacific International Pageant at the nascent age of 19.

The Bollywood Diva
The relationship between Bollywood and beauty has been strong from the very beginning. Son after Zeenat Ji made a mark in the beauty industry by winning different pageants and bagging modelling assignments, she was recognised and approached by Bollywood. Though her tenure as an actress has been a short one, she has still managed to do more than 100 films. However, instead of giving up, Zeenat Ji chose to stick by and in 1971 did Hare Ram Hare Krishna with Dev Anand Ji and this movie turned out to be a huge success. It is said that this is one of the biggest movies of its time. Zeenat Ji also won the Filmfare award for her role.

Zeenat Khan has two sons Zahaan Khan and Azaan Khan. As a single mother, Zennat Ji was at the receiving end of society’s brutality but this did not deter her from being a doting mother. On her Instagram handle, she shares an unseen picture from when her children were very young and pens down a heartfelt note. Her description of Motherhood is so honest and real. Instead of painting a rosy picture, she calls motherhood, “exhilarating, overwhelming, joyous and challenging.”
