Tanaav to stream on Sony Liv

Sony Liv has announced the internationally praised series Fauda to get an Indian adaptation, and it will be directed by veteran director Sudhir Mishra. The show is named Tanaav which means tension, and stress. It will be set against the backdrop of 2017 Kashmir. It will have 12 episodes, starring Manav Vij, Arbaaz Khan, Arslan Goni, Ekta Kaul and Sumit Kaul.

The official synopsis of Tanaav reads, “Set against the backdrop of Kashmir in the year 2017, Tanaav tells the story of a Special Covert Ops Unit, their bravery, and courage. Delving into the human drama behind the ideologies, dealing with complex emotions and flawed characters, all of whom share the same feelings of love, loss, betrayal, and revenge, Tanaav is a socio-political action drama with family at its core.”

Fauda is an Israeli drama show. The show shows how after retiring from the Israel Defense Force, Doron (the lead character) is working in a vineyard. He gets roped back into active duty, though, upon learning that an enemy who Doron thought his unit had killed is still alive and plans on attending his brother’s wedding. As the show proceeds, it gets mysterious and interesting.

Applause Entertainment discovers some of the best International stories to be reimagined and adapted for the Indian audience. As a filmmaker, Tanaav allowed me to explore a variety of characters and delve deep into their psyche. It is a true Indian story weaved into a tightly-knit action drama that highlights human emotions and the dilemmas they face. Cannot wait for the audience to binge-watch Tanaav, soon to launch on SonyLIV“, said Sudhir Mishra about his experience of making the series.

Tanaav has been shot in real locations in Kashmir for over 100 days. As the show comes out, we hope that it will see more seasons too. The original show Fauda has four seasons- three released, and the fourth one is in the making. The show’s release date is yet to be announced.
